Medline California Distribution Center Destroyed by Massive Fire
A massive fire broke out June 11 at a Medline Industries distribution center in Tracy, CA. The fire destroyed the medical-surgical supply distributor’s facility.
The fire began at about 1 p.m. local time at Medline’s warehouse at 5701 Promontory Parkway, according to the City of Tracy. Fire crews initially responded to reports of a fire on the roof of the facility. They found a rapidly developing blaze. The city said early suppression efforts were hampered by a failure of the building’s private fire water system, which significantly affected initial firefighting operations. High winds, low humidity and elevated temperatures contributed to the fire spreading from the roof into the building’s interior and eventually throughout the facility.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
